Dr. Kenneth Chern joined Seaview Orthopaedic & Medical Associates in 1997.  His practice emphasizes treating conditions affecting the shoulder, the knee and all aspects of sports medicine.  Dr. Chern performs minimally invasive procedures such as arthroscopic shoulder stabilization, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopic ACL and PCL reconstructions, elbow arthroscopy, ankle arthroscopy, and hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Chern graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the prestigious College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City. He subsequently trained in orthopaedic surgery at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and as a resident conducted research in knee biomechanics as a Frank E. Stinchfield fellow in the NYOH Research Laboratory.  Dr. Chern completed a second fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery with Dr. J. W. Thomas Byrd, a pioneer in hip arthroscopy and Dr. Burton Elrod, team physician for the Tennessee Titans.

During his training Dr. Chern has served as team physician at the high school, college and professional levels.  He is currently a team physician for the Lakewood Blue Claws. He achieved subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in January, 2008.
